New Delhi (09.09.2024): A member on the Board of Directors in a public sector entity, which is considered to be India's first state-owned company in its sector, may lose the job.
Informed sources say that the administrative department/ministry has already constituted an enquiry committee examining the APAR rating that the person scored is marginally just above zero for CY 2022-23 while the committee is said to have validated the same. It may be noted that any rating between 1-4 is considered zero rating.
Informed sources further say that the said board-level executive is inching closure to ouster from the service ahead of his superannuation in March 2026.
It may be underlined that the said board-level executive landed into a trouble after he was put under suspension in March this year which was then seen to be a disciplinary action. It was the first suspension in at least three decades in the history of the company. His suspension came after he declined to take up a directorship at the subsidiary company mandated for land and assets. The accepting and reviewing authorities are said to have been miffed over his little interest in the organisational affairs.
Reportedly, the committee has completed its task and the administrative authorities may take a final decision anytime soon.
