New Delhi (30.11.2023): If some well-placed sources are to be believed senior AGMUT Cadre IAS officer and incumbent Chief Secretary of Puducherry Rajeev Verma may be considered for the post of Adviser to Administrator, Chandigarh. The post of Adviser to Administrator, Chandigarh is commonly known as Chief Secretary, Chandigarh and considered among few most powerful positions in the rank of Additional Secretary in Govt of India. The Adviser post fell vacant after Dharam Pal (IAS: 1988: AGMUT) retired on October 31 and since November 1 the coveted position is being run under ad hoc arrangement. Apparently, the Centre has started its bit for a regular arrangement for Chandigarh administration.
