The DOPT
on Friday announced the re-designation of post held by B V R C Purushottam
(IAS:2004:UD) who at present serves as Deputy Secretary in the Department of
Revenue. His post is now upgraded as Director. It may
be underlined that on completion of 14 years of service Group ‘A’ Services officers
attain the eligibility for holding posts at the level of Director given, they
are granted Non-Functional Selection Grade in their Cadres. As per
the provisions mentioned above the 2004 batch (Group ‘A’ Services) officers have
attained the eligibility w.e.f. 01 July 2018 and hence more than a dozen of posts
held by 2004 officers were re-designated as Director in various departments and
ministries as follows: 23 August 2018: Ashok
Kumar Yadav (IPoS:2004), Ministry of Women & Child Development; Siljo V K
(ISS:2004), Department of Higher Education and Balram Kumar (IDAS:2004),
Ministry of Textiles. 17 July 2018: Mandeep Kaur (IAS:2004:JK), DC in and the Office of the Development Commissioner
(DS level), MSME; Abhijit Phukon (IES:2004) Deputy Secretary, Ministry of
Corporate Affairs. 11 July 2018: Kundan Kumar (IAS:2004:BH), PS to Home
Minister; Abhay Kumar Singh (IAS:2004:BH); Samar Nanda (IRS C&CE:2004), MSME; Abhay Kumar (IRS
C&CE:2004), Department of Atomic Energy; Kedar Prasad Burande (IDES:2004), Department
of Defence; Sreekanth T (IAS:2004:UT), Ministry of Home Affairs. Reportedly this process of re-designation of posts held by 2004
(Group ‘A’ Services) officers still under process and several other officers may re-designated as Director in coming weeks.
