As many as four union secretaries will retire on 30th September 2016.  Secretaries who will clear the deck for their successors this month are: Anil Kumar Gupta (IAS:1981:WB), Secretary, National Tribal Commission; Rajiv Gupta (IAS:1979:UD), Secretary, Department of Yout Affairs; Shankar Kumar Agrawal (IAS:1980:UP), Secretary, Ministry of Labour & Employment; and Malay Kumar Sinha (IPS:1981:UP), Secretary (Security) Cabinet Secretariat Interestingly, the appointment of successors of Shankar Agrawal and Rajiv Gupta on 28 July 2016 has already been cleared. Ms M Sathiyavathi (IAS:1982:UT) was appointed Union Labour Secretary whereas Amarendra Kumar Dubey (IAS:1982:KL) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs. Currently, the appointment of new Secretary (Security) and Secretary, Tribal Commission is being speculated about.
