RSS’ next target?

RSS wants to do away with the word ‘secular’ from the preamble of the Indian constitution. Some people feel that this is an attempt to make India a Hindu nation but the RSS has its own logic behind this argument. Still, a section feels that CAA, triple talaq, Ram Temple, NRC, NPR, the promise of the Uniform Civil Code and proposed population control bill is simply furthering the agenda of the RSS by the Modi government.

RSS leader J Nandkumar feels that secularism is a western concept that came into existence to fight papal dominance in governance and to get states rid of the shackles of the church that the situation does not exist in India.

The matter of world secular was discussed in the Constituent Assembly debate but was opposed by Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Krishna Swami Aiyar and it was not included in the constitution. “But Constitution was bulldozed by Indira Gandhi in 1976 to include world secular. It was done to harm Hindutva,” he added.

An RSS ideologue vying hard to become BJP spokesperson

Old habits die hard. Once a self-proclaimed RSS ideologue and strategist is now trying hard to be allowed to appear in the media.

The self-proclaimed RSS ideologue earlier used to force people seeking some or the other favour to flock to his doorsteps. He is now trying hard to be accommodated as one of the spokespersons of the BJP. However, he has been conveyed via a senior RSS functionary and BJP General Secretary not to appear in media not only on behalf of the RSS but also for the BJP. He was asked categorically that he must refrain from such appearance.

By IndianMandarins 21 Sep 2019

New Delhi: If some reliable sources are to be believed some unhappy and humiliated bureaucrats are working to oust Kejriwal (AAP) led Delhi Government in the next Assembly elections. They are working day in and day out to oust AAP. Many of them are in constant touch with the RSS leaders in Delhi to execute plans of the BJP.

Ratan meets Bhagwat: officials turn neutral again

By IndianMandarins 19 Apr 2019

Even before officials in power corridors could shrug off their surprise from the open endorsement of Mukesh Ambani to South Mumbai Congress candidate Milind Deora, they were absolutely flabbergasted by the news of India's doyen of ethical business Ratan N Tata traveling to Nagpur and meeting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on April 17. He arrived in Nagpur on Tuesday and left the city after meeting the RSS chief on Wednesday.

The meeting, which lasted for as many as two hours at the organization's headquarters, has upset many an applecart. Officials who have been rooting for the Congress Party till now have all of a sudden turned shy of their political stance and reverted to the neutral gear.

The leakage of Ratan's meeting with Mohan Bhagwat was timed well to neutralize the fallout from Mukesh's open support to Milind.

Ratan's latest meeting with Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters was the second - the first being more than two years ago on December 28, 2016.

Last year, in August, both had shared the stage at a function in Mumbai to mark the birth centenary of late RSS leader Nana Palkar. Ratan was the chief guest at that event.

Former CBI Jt Director to launch his political party today

By IndianMandarins 26 Nov 2018

Former IPS officer and CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana may launch his own political party which may be named as Jana Dhwani or People’s Voice.

VV is expected to announce the launch of the new party today on November 26 at Vijayawada. The new party may try its luck most probably in Andhra's Legislative Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2019.

If VV does make the announcement today, it will end the speculation triggered by his frequent tours in the state and interactions with rural communities in several districts of Andhra Pradesh.

In May this year, amidst huge speculations on whether he would join a mainstream political party or launch his own political outfit, a photo of the former CBI officer participating in a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) convention had gone viral on social media.

The photo had triggered speculations that Laxminarayana may join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the 2019 General Elections.

Laxminarayana first shot into the limelight when he headed the investigation into the infamous ‘disproportionate assets’ case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the current leader of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh and the son of YS Rajashekar Reddy, former Chief Minister of united Andhra.

The retired officer is well-known for reaching out to young voters in the Telugu state.

He also handled the Obulapuram mining case, in which the Ballari Reddy brothers were accused of indulging in illegal mining besides the investigation of financial fraud by Byrraju Ramalingaraju of Satyam Computers

Lakshminarayana has frequently stated that he would like to work for and with rural agrarian communities, whose problems he feels are not being addressed in an appropriate manner.

Does RSS want to practise soft Hindutva?

By IndianMandarins 25 Sep 2018

RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat in his recent discourse took a soft approach on Hindu Rashtra. “No Hindu Rashtra without Muslims,” he argued categorically. This is a significant shift in the traditional view point of RSS and the organisation seems to have taken a moderate view to accommodate Muslims for the first time. Probably this powerful organisation is trying to evolve with changing time. CLICK TO READ RELATED STORY.

RG and Bhagwat must talk?

By IndianMandarins 04 Sep 2018

There seems to be a storm in tea cup on possible meeting of Congress President Rahul Gandhi with the RSS chief in near future. Former president Pranab Mukherjee performed this task without inhibition and immense maturity keeping in mind his five decades high credentials in public life. So, Rahul Gandhi may think to have a dialogue with RSS chief and still carry the party's secular agenda in the ensuing Lok Sabha polls. CLICK TO READ.
