a-new-perspective-of-the-rss-about-muslims-in-india-

A new perspective of the RSS about Muslims in India?

A reiteration comes from the top echelons of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) when one of its most powerful joint general secretaries Dattatreya Hosabale affirmed that the entire Muslim community cannot be held responsible for spreading coronavirus pandemic. A similar statement was made last week by RSS Sarsanghchalak Mohan Rao Bhagwat.

What does that mean? Is it dilution in the Hindutva stand of the RSS? Not exactly! There is a need to understand this with the global expansion of the organization. The RSS is no more only working in the Vanwasi (tribal) areas but has been working in the Muslim dominated areas for quite some time and any sweeping and irresponsible comment will harm its cause that wants to inculcate among Muslims that the cultural root of every Muslim is in India and not in Saudi Arabia. To make them understand this is not only a time-taking process but also a tedious and cumbersome exercise.

Muslim Rashtriya Manch is working mostly in the urban areas with a few exceptions however other affiliate organizations and the RSS directly working in the Muslim dominated areas like Assam, West Bengal, Kerala and even in Union territory of Jammu and Kashmir with the help of its student organization ABVP and other affiliates outfits.

The stand taken by the RSS on Muslims is also an attempt to nullify propaganda against the organizations in the foreign countries where the RSS has its extensive work to tell people about Hindutva not only among Indians but among others as well. The RSS has a proper organizational set up in roughly 50 countries.

Apparently, the government too must have intervened to tell the RSS leaders that the entire government efforts to fight against COVID-19 will go waste if this narrative is allowed to be built that atrocity is unleashed against Muslims in India. So it is an attempt to offset with the same argument that the way some people tried to create a false Islamophobia narrative for the irresponsible behavior of a section of the community similarly the other minuscule community too behaved irresponsibly to create Hinduphobia which is just a myth and propaganda. And none should be allowed to make any such narrative to gain currency. Indian society is innately built in such a way that there is no space for hatred, this is what RSS apparently wants to put forth.

The RSS has not only been working at the grassroots among Muslims but it has been interacting with its leaders and groups that influence Muslim masses. Minority affairs minister M A Naqvi had organized a meeting in which Muslim Ulma and RSS senior functionary were present when CAA protests were at peak. Some more such meetings had happened in various parts of the country.

The RSS chief had at least three-four meetings with Jamiat Ulama e Hind which an orthodox Sunni and Deobandi Islamic organization having its headquarters in New Delhi. A claim has also been made that they are in talks with the RSS to take Bhagwat to Deoband that has the second-best Islamic institution in the world Darul Uloom, Deoband after the Al-Azahar University in Cairo in Egypt.

The RSS has largely been credited with managing the situation post Ram Temple verdict and triple talaq issue. This is endorsed by the fact when Dattatreya Hosabale says Muslims in India and their welfare are well-taken care by the government and society.

RSS: Reshuffle of assignments of senior functionaries

Though the outbreak of COVID-19 has forced to cancel annual Rashtriya Pratinidhi Sabha meeting in Bangaluru but changes in the organisation have been enacted for better functioning. Senior RSS functionaries have been saying that work of the organisation is expanding and 15 lakh swayamsevak will be working across the country. One of the most important change has been appointment of Sunil Ambekar as Akhil Bharatiya Sah Prachar Pramukh who was recently relieved from the responsibility of organising secretary of ABVP.

Now, the RSS will have two sah prachar pramukh under Prachar Pramukh Arun Kumar who is responsible to interact with media. Undue interference of some of the RSS functionaries in some of the government department have forced some of these changes as the objection has been reaching not only to the RSS top brass but also in the government. K N Raghunandan has been sent to Vidya Bharati.

Outgoing prant pracharak of Kanpur Sanjay Mishra has been sent to Itihas Sankalan Samiti which works in the field of History while Mukul Kanitakar’s responsibility remains unchanged but now he will be able to assert more as he is directly associated with education. J Nandkumar is also expected to get some responsibility in Kerala sooner or later. Several Prant Pracharak and Kshetra Pracharaks have been changed

PM meets 18 Lok Sabha MPs individually: Larger significance?

By IndianMandarins 06 Mar 2020

Has PM Narendra Modi taken matters related to West Bengal Assembly elections in his own hands? Meeting all 18 Lok Sabha MPs from the state individually appears a signal of sort. Political experts say that this is an attempt of giving a clear message that the BJP would contest Assembly elections of West Bengal with its full strength to change the government?

In one of the meetings with MPs of the state, the PM told one of them that winning West Bengal Assembly election is not like any other Assembly election rather it is important for the nation. Union Home minister Amit Shah will be spending two-three days every month in West Bengal. He has already started addressing pro-CAA rallies and PM is also having various programs in the state.

Sources said that for Sangh Pariwar having control over bordering state with huge infiltration coming in is of paramount importance. After winning Assam BJP aims at West Bengal where allegedly huge number of infiltrators have settled and incumbent Mamata Banerjee not taking any remedial measure to check the phenomena.

Reportedly, the PM is asking MPs about the aspiration of people, organisational requirement and governmental assistance. The new team under J P Nadda will have a representative from West Bengal besides the possibility of one more induction in the council of minister if reshuffle or expansion happens. But PM monitoring the situation will keep others on toes.

RSS’ next target?

By IndianMandarins 05 Jan 2020

RSS wants to do away with the word ‘secular’ from the preamble of the Indian constitution. Some people feel that this is an attempt to make India a Hindu nation but the RSS has its own logic behind this argument. Still, a section feels that CAA, triple talaq, Ram Temple, NRC, NPR, the promise of the Uniform Civil Code and proposed population control bill is simply furthering the agenda of the RSS by the Modi government.

RSS leader J Nandkumar feels that secularism is a western concept that came into existence to fight papal dominance in governance and to get states rid of the shackles of the church that the situation does not exist in India.

The matter of world secular was discussed in the Constituent Assembly debate but was opposed by Bhim Rao Ambedkar and Krishna Swami Aiyar and it was not included in the constitution. “But Constitution was bulldozed by Indira Gandhi in 1976 to include world secular. It was done to harm Hindutva,” he added.

An RSS ideologue vying hard to become BJP spokesperson

By IndianMandarins 14 Nov 2019

Old habits die hard. Once a self-proclaimed RSS ideologue and strategist is now trying hard to be allowed to appear in the media.

The self-proclaimed RSS ideologue earlier used to force people seeking some or the other favour to flock to his doorsteps. He is now trying hard to be accommodated as one of the spokespersons of the BJP. However, he has been conveyed via a senior RSS functionary and BJP General Secretary not to appear in media not only on behalf of the RSS but also for the BJP. He was asked categorically that he must refrain from such appearance.

Angry bureaucrats adding up RSS for ouster of AAP from Delhi

By IndianMandarins 21 Sep 2019

New Delhi: If some reliable sources are to be believed some unhappy and humiliated bureaucrats are working to oust Kejriwal (AAP) led Delhi Government in the next Assembly elections. They are working day in and day out to oust AAP. Many of them are in constant touch with the RSS leaders in Delhi to execute plans of the BJP.

Reportedly, disgruntled civil servants are helping the RSS to find ways to weaken Kejriwal’s prospects. These bureaucrats are telling the RSS vulnerability of the government where it could be hit at and strength where it should not be attacked.

Ratan meets Bhagwat: officials turn neutral again

By IndianMandarins 19 Apr 2019

Even before officials in power corridors could shrug off their surprise from the open endorsement of Mukesh Ambani to South Mumbai Congress candidate Milind Deora, they were absolutely flabbergasted by the news of India's doyen of ethical business Ratan N Tata traveling to Nagpur and meeting RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat on April 17. He arrived in Nagpur on Tuesday and left the city after meeting the RSS chief on Wednesday.

The meeting, which lasted for as many as two hours at the organization's headquarters, has upset many an applecart. Officials who have been rooting for the Congress Party till now have all of a sudden turned shy of their political stance and reverted to the neutral gear.

The leakage of Ratan's meeting with Mohan Bhagwat was timed well to neutralize the fallout from Mukesh's open support to Milind.

Ratan's latest meeting with Bhagwat at the RSS headquarters was the second - the first being more than two years ago on December 28, 2016.

Last year, in August, both had shared the stage at a function in Mumbai to mark the birth centenary of late RSS leader Nana Palkar. Ratan was the chief guest at that event.

Former CBI Jt Director to launch his political party today

By IndianMandarins 26 Nov 2018

Former IPS officer and CBI joint director VV Lakshminarayana may launch his own political party which may be named as Jana Dhwani or People’s Voice.

VV is expected to announce the launch of the new party today on November 26 at Vijayawada. The new party may try its luck most probably in Andhra's Legislative Assembly elections scheduled to be held in 2019.

If VV does make the announcement today, it will end the speculation triggered by his frequent tours in the state and interactions with rural communities in several districts of Andhra Pradesh.

In May this year, amidst huge speculations on whether he would join a mainstream political party or launch his own political outfit, a photo of the former CBI officer participating in a Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) convention had gone viral on social media.

The photo had triggered speculations that Laxminarayana may join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) before the 2019 General Elections.

Laxminarayana first shot into the limelight when he headed the investigation into the infamous ‘disproportionate assets’ case of YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, the current leader of the opposition in Andhra Pradesh and the son of YS Rajashekar Reddy, former Chief Minister of united Andhra.

The retired officer is well-known for reaching out to young voters in the Telugu state.

He also handled the Obulapuram mining case, in which the Ballari Reddy brothers were accused of indulging in illegal mining besides the investigation of financial fraud by Byrraju Ramalingaraju of Satyam Computers

Lakshminarayana has frequently stated that he would like to work for and with rural agrarian communities, whose problems he feels are not being addressed in an appropriate manner.
