NHAI: Panel for 03 Member posts scrapped, panel for 01 remains

Two posts of Member (Project) and one each post of Member (PPP) and Member (Administration) had been lying vacant for several months for which the selection process was started in February/March this year.

Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that panel for Member (Admin) remains alive whereas panels for two posts of Member (Project) and one for Member (PP) have been scrapped recently.

Even though the Member (Administration) post may be filled soon, NHAI may have to wait for a few more months to get full-strength at Board level.

NHAI caught in a slow lane: Fourth top post falling vacant

By IndianMandarins 14 May 2019

With one top post in the National Highways Authority of India falling vacant after the other the institution is soon going to be left with only three members against the sanctioned strength of six top-level stewards running the country’s infrastructural giant.

The latest to go is NHAI’s Member (Technical) DO Tawade. His farewell is billed for tomorrow as he is retiring.

This will leave the post of fourth member in NHAI vacant until at least a selection is made to fil the vacancy. The process to find a suitable replacement of the superannuating member is reported to have been set on. Yet, this is likely to take a few months time.

Last month the post of Member (Admin) had fallen vacant as the incumbent R K Chaturvedi (IAS 1987 MP) was appointed as AS&FA in the Ministry of Culture.

This was only months after A K Singh Member (Projects) and Neeraj Verma Member (PPP) had completed their terms in the NHAI which serves as the main arm of Ministry of Road, Transport and Highways.
