By IndianMandarins 29 Apr 2020

On the occasion of HUDCO’s Golden Jubilee, more than 1000 officials and stakeholders from across the country joined a live webcast event to mark 50 years of distinguished service to the nation. In the wake of the corona pandemic, the use of information technology to enable virtual celebration of the foundation day, was a historic first.

Union Secretary for Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs Durga Shanker Mishra (IAS:1984:UP), the Chief Guest on the occasion, addressed the officials and appreciated HUDCO’s stupendous contribution towards nation-building.

He urged HUDCO to continue to dream big and strive innovatively to address the challenges in the habitat sector and to develop as a knowledge hub among the SAARC and Commonwealth nations, particularly post COVID pandemic. Further, he stressed the need to learn from our past experiences and go beyond our usual business so as to achieve our dream of making India a developed nation by 2030.

Shiv Das Meena (IAS:1989:TN), the interim CMD of HUDCO, congratulated the employees for their commitment and dedication over decades, which has made HUDCO a continuously profit-making enterprise with a unique business model of ‘profitability with social justice’.

M Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning) welcomed the participants, and D Guhan, Director (Finance) proposed the vote of thanks.

HUDCO: S D Meena named as interim CMD

By IndianMandarins 23 Apr 2020

Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA) has reportedly, given the additional charge of CMD post in HUDCO to Shiv Das Meena (IAS:1989:TN) for a period of six months w.e.f. 21.04.2020. Presently, he is working as Additional Secretary in MoHUA. Following the completion of Dr M Ravi Kanth last year the additional charge of CMD post was given to M Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning) for a period ending 17 April 2020.

Apprehending the delay in the selection process for CMD post, which was advertised recently, the ministry gave the additional charge to S D Meena.

HUDCO: Amid unending saga of uncertainty Dr Nagaraj gets additional charge

By IndianMandarins 08 Jan 2020

The Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs on Tuesday assigned the additional charge of CMD, HUDCO to Dr M Nagaraj, Director (Corporate Planning). For over ninety days of uncertainty HUDCO appears to have gathered rays of clarity.

It may be mentioned that the erstwhile CMD Dr M Ravi Kanth demitted office on December 20, 2019 but it took the ministry over two weeks to assign the additional charge of CMD post.

After Dr Kanth completed his extended tenure on October 10, 2019 top officials remained completely clueless over the extension/non-extension. Dr Kanth still continued as CMD expecting ACC’s decision over extension/non-extension. Had Dr Kanth given extension he would have continued till November 2020. But in the backdrop of non-extension of former GAIL CMD B C Tripathy and former NBCC CMD Dr A K Mittal it was unlikely for Dr Kanth too to get extension. But those in the affairs say that differences between the top authorities of the ministry and HUDCO had added to the uncertainty.

Surprisingly, public-sector headhunter too had not advertised the CMD post leaving the senior management clueless over the fate of the Board management.
