A Bihar cadre IAS officer, Inayat Khan, District Magistrate Sheikhpura, has set an example for his colleagues by offering to adopt a girl child of one of one of the two CRPF personnel who died in the line of duty in Pulwama suicide attack.

After observing a two-minute silence for Sanjay Kumar Sinha and Ratan Thakur, who were cremated in their respective home districts of Patna and Bhagalpur, Khan asked the collectorate staff to voluntarily contribute at least a day's salary for the welfare of the families of the two martyred troopers.

The Agra-born 2012 batch IAS officer also said I have asked my staff to get details of the two CRPF personnel's families. I would like to take up the responsibility of education, marriage etc. of one girl child of either of them".

While Sinha has two daughters aged 22 and 19, Thakur has a four-year-old son and his wife is expecting their second child.

Sinha was posted as a Head Constable in the 176th battalion CRPF and Thakur was a constable with the 45th battalion of the central paramilitary force.
