Power corridors are abuzz that the NaMo administration may undertake a major bureaucratic reshuffle in the mid of July. If top sources are to be believed, many secretaries in various ministries and departments of the Central government may witness lateral shift during the expected rejig. The speculations of big a ticket reshuffle seem out of sync as there is hardly any vacancy at Centre in secretary rank posts. Though some senior level appointments may take place in the Department of Land Resources, IWAI, NHAI, National Tribal Commission etc but all it fails to convince about the possibility of a major secretary level changes. It may be recalled that on May 18, a major bureaucratic rejig had been effected in which almost all the secretary rank posts had been filled, leaving hardly any room for any further accommodation. M M Kutty and Anup Wadhawan were made OSDs in the Petroleum and the Commerce Ministries against the anticipated vacancies in June and July. Similarly, Binoy Kumar and Pushpa Subramanyam were made OSDs in the Ministry of Steel and Ministry of Food Processing against the anticipated vacancies in August and October. In this background, it is difficult to believe the buzz doing rounds. Yet, given the fact that frequent lateral shifts at any level of posts have become a norm under the NaMo administration, it is hard to rule out a big bureaucratic shift in coming days.
