Hyderabad (03.01.2024): In order to streamline functioning of residential schools for girls, the Telangana government has issued instructions to women officers of All India Service (AIS) to night stay in these institutions. Telangana Chief Secretary A Shanthi Kumari (IAS: 1989: TG) has directed for a regular engagement with these institutions to identify and address gaps in their operations.
They have been asked for a compulsory night stay during their visits to identify gaps in the functioning of these institutions. The officers are required to submit detailed review reports to the concerned departments including SC Development Department, BC Department and School Education Department within seven days of their visit. These reports must highlight key observations, actionable recommendations and immediate concerns warranting urgent attention, the order says. The Principal Secretary of the SC Department has been designated as the nodal officer to conduct these visits. A consolidated report will be submitted to General Administration Department every quarter.
