There has been buzz doing rounds in power corridors that Girish Chandra Murmu (IAS:1985:GJ) may be given to succeed Snehlalata Srivastava (IAS:1982:MP) as Additional Secretary, Department of Financial Services after Ms Snehlata would be empanelled as Secretary (review empanelment of 1982 IAS by August/Sept).
Ever since Murmu moved at Centre as JS under Ministry of Finance there has been buzz that he has been brought from Gujarat with an objective to lead Enforcement Directorate.
Presently Murmu is positioned in North Block as Joint Secretary, Department of Expenditure. Prior to this he served in the most sought after state Gujarat as Principal Secretary to Chief Minister, Anandiben Patel and former CM Narendra Modi.
