why-is-appointment-for-ihc-london-stuck An inordinate delay in the appointment for Minister Economic, Indian High Commission, London, is making people wonder about the reasons. Reportedly the matter was taken up in the CSB (Civil Service Board) at least four times, yet no decision could be taken. The JS rank post was advertised on June 29, 2015, and a selection interview was held on February 04, 2016. The post is eyed by all civil servants across the spectrum. Indianmandarins has reliably learnt that even minutes of the meetings (CSB held on 04 Feb 2016 for the IHC London post) have not yet been signed. This has created an additional road block. This aspect has made many stakeholders more curious about the factors active behind the deadlock. On 04th February, the CSB is said to have taken up the matter for three prominent foreign posts of Minister Economic IHC London, Adviser to ED AB (Manila) and Minister Economic Washington DC. Out of these three posts, the appointment for the Manila posting was cleared (M Devraj appointed) whereas a decision is still awaited for the two other posts. Of these two, the IHC London posting is facing complex issues for which seven Jt Secretary rank IAS officers (1990 to 1997 batch) were interviewed but several pull-factors have made the matter complicated enough for an easy solution.
