New Delhi (31.08.2023): Citing the provisions of Rule 3 (1) of the All India Services (Discipline and Appeal) Rules 1969 the Government of Punjab placed senior IAS officer Dhirendra Kumar Tiwari(IAS: 1994: PB) under suspension with immediate effect. Currently, he is working as Principal Secretary, Water Supply & Sanitation and Financial Commissioner, Rural Development & Panchayats.
In addition to Tiwari, the Government also placed Gurpreet Singh Khaira (IAS: 2009: PB) under suspension citing the same rules and provisions. Currently, he is Director, Rural Development & Panchayats and ex-officio Special Secretary, Department of Rural Development & Panchayats and Mission Director, Mahatma Gandhi Sarbat Vikas Yojna (MGSVY).
The suspension order underlines that the Head Quarter of these Officers during suspension period shall be at Chandigarh and they will be entitled to subsistence allowance as per Rules.
