Hyderabad (14.03.2026): The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has shortlisted three senior IPS officers -- C V Anand (IPS: 1991: TG), Vinayak Prabhakar Apte (IPS: 1994: TG) and Soumya Mishra (IPS: 1994: TG) -- for the post of DGP in Telangana. The state govt is now expected to choose one of the three to head the state's police force. The selection committee met in Delhi on March 11 to complete the shortlisting process in line with the directives of the Supreme Court. The high-level meeting was attended by the UPSC chairperson, the Union Home Secretary, the Telangana Chief Secretary, and a nominee from the Ministry of Home Affairs.
