telangana-govt-claims-to-reduce-prevent-crime-in-stateThe Telangana government has claimed to reduce and prevent crime successfully in the state and reorganization of the districts and decentralization of powers has been cited as one of reasons for overall improvement in the administrative situation in the state. "Reorganisation of districts has led to decentralization of powers, resulting in improvement in the district administration. The Telangana state police has been successful in reducing and preventing crime," Naini Narsimha Reddy, the state's Home Minister observed while speaking at the valedictory function of the two-day 19th All India Conference of Directors of Finger Print Bureaux here on Friday. Speaking on the occasion, Principal Secretary for Home, Rajiv Trivedi said training together with increase in the capacity of manpower and mobility has improved policing in the state. State DGP Mahendra Reddy highlighted the value of finger printing in successful prosecution of offenders. "Finger printing is a great tool to detect the offenders for prosecuting them successfully," the state DGP said, adding that "use of scientific tools improve conviction rate, confidence of citizens and make the police investigations transparent and accountable." National Crime Records Bureau Director Ish Kumar, NCRB JD (CCTNS) Sanjay Mathur and others also addressed the conference where a book titled "Award of excellence in FP Identification/science competition-compilation of cases" was released.
