New Delhi (09.01.2026): The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has appointed Anand Swaroop (IPS: 1992: UP), who was working as DG (I), NHRC, as the new Special Secretary (Internal Security) at the Ministry of Home Affairs replacing Praveen Vashista (IPS: 1991: BH). The tenure of Swaroop will be up to August 31, 2029 i.e. the date of his superannuation.The ACC also cleared the appointed Anupama Nilekar Chandra (IPS: 1994: BH), presently working as Spl. Director General in Sashastra Seema Bal, as Director General (Investigation) in National Human Rights Commission (NHRC) vice Anand Swaroop (IPS: 1992: UP) up to 31.03.2031 i.e. date of her superannuation.
