The secrecy surrounding the process of selecting ministers for economic at Indian High Commission in London and embassy in Washington as well as of adviser to ED of ADB, Manila has raised eyebrows at the higher echelons of bureaucracy. Power corridors have been abuzz that the DoPT interacted with few candidates on February 04 for London and Washington postings but dozens of applicants are yet clueless about the short-listed candidates and followed procedures.
The two vacancies at London and Washington were advertised in June 2015 whereas the post at Manila (ADB) was advertised in September 2015. The entire selection process in normal course consumes six months but this time the delay has aroused suspicion and suspense.
