Srivastava appointed Delhi CP 40 days ahead of retirement

2998New Delhi (21.05.2021): The Union Home Ministry on Friday announced the appointment of Sachidanand Srivastava (IPS:1985:UT) as the regular Police Commissioner, Delhi. He will be retiring next month. Srivastava worked as Special DG (Training) in CRPF until he repatriated to parent cadre in the last week of February 2020. He was drafted as Special Commissioner of Police (law and order) in the Delhi Police on 26.02.2020 and two days later (28.02.2020) he got the command of Delhi Police as an ad-hoc arrangement. It may be underlined that following the completion of Amulya Patnaik’s (IPS:1985:UT) month-long extension on 28.02.2020 Srivastava was assigned the additional charge of CP, Delhi. It took Srivastava almost 15 months to prove himself and bag the position as regular CP of Delhi.
