Railway
Board Secretary Ranjanesh Sahai, who called for action against Union minister
Jitendra Singh's OSD Sanjiv Kumar (IRPS:2005) for allegedly casting
"aspersions" on the railway minister and questioning the wisdom of
senior officials in an article, has been transferred. Sahai,
an officer of the Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS), is said to have
earned the wrath of the government for his 'manipulation' to turn his personal
war into an official one. His
next posting is not yet announced. Meantime,
Sushant Kumar Mishra (IRTS:1985) has taken over as the new Railway Board
secretary. Sahai's
transfer comes within a month of his writing to the Department of Personnel and
Training (DoPT) seeking the immediate repatriation of Sanjiv Kumar for
"breach of official decorum and misconduct". Sahai
was named Railway Board secretary, considered as one of the most prestigious
posts in the Railway Ministry, in December 2017.
