Jaipur (01.07.2025): Rajeev Kumar Sharma (IPS: 1990: RJ), has taken charge as the new Director General of Police (DGP). Rajasthan Government had announced his name as State DGP on June 30, 2024, He succeeds interim DGP Dr R P Meharda. Meharda replaced U R Sahoo, who was appointed as Chairman of Rajasthan Public Service Commission (RPSC). After the announcement of Sharma's name as the next DGP the government of Rajasthan had sent a formal letter to the Central Government requesting his release from the Bureau of Police Research and Development (BPR&D) on June 30, 2025. His tenure is expected to last until June 30, 2027. It is worth noting that Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma had reportedly made up his mind a few months ago. ALSO READ:
