A A Rao, Additional Secretary in the Rajya Sabha Secretariat, has been terminated w.e.f. 31.08.2020. He was appointed to the post on 28.08.2019 on a contract basis. Rao, a retired Indian Information Service officer and former Director of DD News, is considered as a close confidant of Vice President and Rajya Sabha Chairman M Venkaiah Naidu. The Rajya Sabha Secretariat on Tuesday (01.09.2020) issued the order. Rao had been handling the media publicity of Naidu for several years.
