Amid the ongoing speculations over the appointment of a new top cop in the Yogi administration, Indianmandarins has learnt that Rajni Kant Mishra (IPS:1984: UP) may be named as successor to the current DGP Javed Ahmed (IPS:1984: UP) who may be asked to sign off in the next few days. It may be reiterated that the Yogi administration has given Javed a 15 days timeline to prove his mettle and set things in order as per the priorities of his poll promises. It is widely believed that Yogi wanted to send out a message that his govt was in no haste to change the top order of the bureaucracy as it believes in an inclusive and harmonious approach to governance.
Currently, Mishra serves at the center as ADG, BSF, and he has approx two and a half years to retire.
