New Delhi (11.11.2025): The Government of India on Monday appointed Rajasthan’s Chief Secretary Sudhansh Pant (IAS: 1991: RJ) as Union Secretary, Department of Social Justice & Empowerment, Ministry of Social Justice & Empowerment. He will replace Amit Yadav (IAS: 1991: AGMUT) upon his superannuation on 30.11.2025. The Centre had picked Pant on 31.12.2023 for Chief Secretary position immediately after BJP’s victory in Rajasthan.
The then Union Health Secretary Pant had replaced Usha Sharma (IAS: 1985: RJ) as the CS. He had been posted as Secretary in the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare in August 2023. Sudhansh Pant had superseded six officers to become the CS of Rajasthan for his administrative acumen and credentials. 
His appointments always assumed significance for the Centre picked him for several key positions including that of Secretary in the Ministry of Shipping and Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.
