New Delhi (16.10.2025): In a significant leadership appointment in the national transporter, the Appointments Committee of the Cabinet (ACC) has approved the elevation of Shalini Darbari (IRAS: 1990) as Additional Member (Finance) in the Railway Board.
The appointment to the Pay Level 16 post is effective from December 1, 2025, placing a seasoned financial officer at the heart of the Railway Ministry’s decision-making apparatus.
Ms. Darbari, an Indian Railway Accounts Service (IRAS) officer from the 1990 batch, is currently the Principal Financial Adviser (PFA) for Western Railway, one of the most commercially critical zones. Her experience was recently underscored when she was assigned the additional charge as Director (Finance) at the Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation (MRVC) earlier this year.
The role of Additional Member (Finance) will be pivotal in overseeing the financial aspects of these large-scale infrastructure projects and ensuring optimal resource allocation.
