Power Finance Corporation (PFC), India's leading NBFC, under its CSR initiative recently installed a stand-alone solar rooftop system at ASHA School (Delhi Cantt), run by Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA). Their association works for the welfare of the spouses, children and dependents of the Army personnel. Solar power provides a more efficient way for schools to meet their energy needs because of its reliability and consistent energy pricing.

ASHA School is a center for differently-abled children, with the aim to provide an environment that offers a combined curriculum of education and therapy.

Ravinder Singh Dhillon - Chairman and Managing Director, PFC  along with Lt. General R K Anand inaugurated the stand-alone solar rooftop system of 5 kWp (kilowatts peak) capacity in the Delhi Cantt branch. Under the same initiative, PFC will also be providing 5 kW stand-alone solar rooftop systems with battery backups in 37 Asha schools across the country.

PK Singh (Director Commercial), R Murahari (Executive Director-CSR) and M Prabhakar Das, Chief General Manager (CSR&SD), PFC also graced the occasion along with other Indian Army officials and school staff.

PFC is also providing solar lanterns to the Indian Army under its CSR initiative. 5,000 solar lanterns have already been supplied to the Indian Army which is helping them in tough terrains and forward posts.
