Organisational reshuffle likely in Congress; some already done

New Delhi (19.08.2023): Ten months after taking over as Congress president, Mallikarjun Kharge is planning to make his first big organisational changes soon. Most of the senior leaders are keeping their fingers crossed as they await the much-anticipated changes in the Grand Old Party. Appointments are also going to indicate the level of control and the confidence that Kharge now has in his leadership of the party.

The Congress has already appointed Ajay Rai as the new Uttar Pradesh Congress president replacing Brijlal Khabri. Party has appointed Randeep Singh Surjewala as new general secretary in-charge of poll-bound Madhya Pradesh replacing Jai Prakash Aggarwal while Mukul Wasnik as general secretary in-charge of Gujarat replacing Raghu Sharma.
