Reportedly, the top authority appeared convinced that the officer would be the best and irreplaceable choice for the role of SEBI Chairman given his past expertise. The Economics graduate officer is also a PhD from IIM Bangalore and frequently teaches at Penn State University also. PMO is in the process of issuing orders on February 28, when the term of current incumbent Ajay Tyagi, another outstanding officer, ends.
