next-cisf-dg-ranjan-deswal-or-mishraIndianmandarins has reliably learnt that selection committee had on Saturday discussed three names for appointment to the post of Director General CISF namely; Deepak Mishra (IPS:1984:UT), Rajesh Ranjan (IPS:1984:BH) and S S Deswal (IPS:1984:HY). The committee, headed by Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh, on Saturday met at his residence and discussed the names setting aside wild speculations that 1985 batch was also in the race for CISF top post. The selection committee included National Security Adviser Ajot Doval, Union Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba, IB Chief Rajeev Jain. Further it is learnt that Deswal (ADG, SSB) is ahead in the race. Rajesh Ranjan (Special DG, BSF) also has fair chances for the post who is said to be keen for BSF top job rather that CISF. It is believed that having only eight months in hand to retire Deepak Mishra (Special DG, CRPF) has little chance to be drafted as CISF top post. The CISF top post is vacant since January this year following the pre-mature repatriation of O P Singh (IPS:1983:UP) as UP DGP. Currently, Alok Kumar Pateria (ADG, CISF), a 1986 batch IPS officer of MP cadre, is leading the force.
