New Delhi (30.07.2024): The New Delhi establishment appointed Rohit Kumar Singh (Retd IAS: 1989: RJ) as Member in National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC). He retired as Union Secretary, Department of Consumer Affairs on March 31, 2024.
In addition to Singh the government also appointed Justice Saroj Yadav, former Judge of Allahabad High Court, as another member in the commission (NCDRC).
The term of the member is for a period of four years from the assumption of charge or till the attainment of 67 years.
The appointment of Rohit Kumar Singh comes a day before the superannuation of his wife Nina Singh (IPS: 1989: RJ), who is retiring from the post of DG Central Industrial Security Force (CISF). She is the first woman DG of CISF. During her last term in the Cadre state (Rajasthan) she became the first woman IPS officer to hold DG rank.
