New Delhi/Kochi (13.03.2026): Chief Minister of Kerala Pinarayi Vijayan laid the foundation stone through online mode for the Marine Eco City Project at Marine Drive, Kochi. The event held at the KTDC Convention centre, Bolgatty, Kochi was also graced by Revenue and Housing Minister K Rajan, P P Suneer, M P Rajyasabha, T J Vinod, MLA, Geetha A, IAS, Housing Commissioner and Secretary KSHB, G Priyanka, IAS, District Collector, Kochi, Dr Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), NBCC, Subhash Punjakottil, Board Member, KSHB, V Unnikrishnan, Technical Member, KSHB, along with senior officers from KSHB and NBCC.
A memorandum of understanding for the project was signed between the KSHB and NBCC in 2023. The project will come up near the BPCL housing complex at Marine Drive. The landmark development is being undertaken by the Kerala State Housing Board (KSHB), with NBCC (India) Limited, a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, Government of India, associated with the project as Project Management Consultant (PMC) for implementation on an EPC basis.
Spread across 17.9 acres of prime waterfront land, the Marine Eco City Project has been conceived as a self-sustainable urban development model aimed at monetizing the land parcel while creating a modern residential, commercial and hospitality hub in Kochi.
Expressing his happiness on this development, Dr. K.P. The Marine Eco City Project is expected to emerge as a major urban landmark along Kochi’s Marine Drive, strengthening the city’s residential, commercial and tourism infrastructure while promoting sustainable and planned urban development.
