namo-seated-next-to-obama-during-nuclear-security-summit Prime Minister Narendra Modi was seated next to Obama during the White House dinner which was attended by heads of States of more than 20 countries in the US capital for the fourth edition of the Nuclear Security Summit. Praising the US President for his initiative on nuclear security, Modi said Obama's legacy must endure. At the same time he had a veiled go at uncle Xi Jinping (a day before China has scuttled move to bring UN sanction on Jaish chief Masood Azhar), saying "drop the notion that terrorism is someone else's problem and that 'his' terrorist is not 'my' terrorist." Call it Modi impact or not, in Beijing, a Chinese foreign ministry spokesman was constrained to state that "We always deal with the listing issue (banning militant groups and their leaders) under the UN Security Council committee established under resolution 1267 based on facts and relevant rules of procedures in an objective and just manner," he said. Clearly, Modi's rising star in Washington may not be relished by Uncle Xi who's currently embroiled in series of conflict with the Obama administration. Although under Obama, China and US have been managing the crises in their relations, the same may not hold if either Trump or Hillary wins the US presidential election.
