New Delhi (28.01.2021): Nagaland Chief Secretary Tali Temjen Toy (IAS:1989:NL) passed away on Thursday evening in Kohima after a prolonged illness. He was officially appointed to the present post on January 1, 2019. He was diagnosed with cancer last year and underwent treatment in New York, he recently returned to Kohima. Temjen Toy’s condition deteriorated yesterday and passed away in Kohima today. He was 57 and is survived by his wife, two sons, and two daughters. An IAS cadre from Nagaland, Toy entered the service in 1989 and served the State Government in various capacities. Meanwhile, Nagaland Governor RN Ravi and Chief Minister Neiphiu Rio led others in mourning Toy’s demise and paid rich tributes to the departed bureaucrat. In his tribute, Governor Ravi said that Nagaland has lost an “able administrator and one of the finest human being!”
