New Delhi (17.02.2026): In a major push to align India’s vocational training with the demands of a modern workforce, the Union Secretary of Housing and Urban Affairs (MoHUA), Srinivas Katikithala (IAS: 1989), inaugurated the CII-NBCC Training Institute at Ghitorni, New Delhi.
The launch of this Multi-Skill Training Institute (MSTI) and Model Career Centre (MCC) marks a strategic collaboration between state-run NBCC (India) Limited and the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII). The event was attended by top officials including Ravi Kumar Arora, Joint Secretary (MoHUA), K P Mahadevaswamy, CMD of NBCC, and Dr. Suman Kumar, Director (Commercial), NBCC including others.
Reportedly, the partnership is designed to move beyond traditional certification, focusing instead on "direct pathways to employment." The institute will offer industry-aligned bridge courses specifically tailored for high-growth sectors.
Unlike conventional training centers, the Ghitorni facility integrates a Model Career Centre. This unit will serve as a hub for direct placements and will help leveraging CII’s vast in network to host job fairs and campus recruitments. The new arrangement will guiding youths through the evolving requirements of the modern workforce.
Speaking at the inauguration, Secretary, MoHUA emphasized that the initiative is a significant step in the government's mandate to enhance the employability of India’s youth. By combining NBCC’s infrastructure with CII’s industry insights, the center aims to create a "job-ready" talent pool for the Delhi-NCR region.
NBCC CMD K P Mahadevaswamy added that the program is not just about training but about economic empowerment, ensuring that the youth are equipped with skills that meet the "evolving needs" of a global economy.
