State-owned MMTC Limited has been facing acute financial crises. Probably this is for the first time it could not disburse salaries to its employees for the month of September due to financial crunch. Even though MMTC has adopted cost rationalization and a set of austere measures it failed to fulfill its obligation towards its employees.

For the last few years, it has been suffering from a financial crunch due to mismanagement and corruption. COVID-19 pandemic has certainly added to its difficulties.
