New Delhi (19.10.2022): The Narendra Modi Administration on Wednesday effected a major Secretary-level reshuffle. The list of officers reshuffled goes as follows:
- Nagendra Nath Sinha (lAS:1987:JH) was appointed as Officer on Special Duty (OSD), Ministry of Steel w.e.f. 01.12.2022. Sinha will take over as Secretary from Sanjay Kumar Singh (lAS:1987:MP) upon his superannuation on 31.12.2022. Currently, Sinha is Secretary, Department of Rural Development.
- Aramane Giridhar (lAS:1988:AP) was appointed as OSD, Department of Defence. Aramane will take over as Secretary, Department of Defence vice Ajay Kumar (lAS:1985:KL) upon his superannuation on 31.10.2022. Currently, Aramane is Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways.
- Ms Alka Upadhyaya (lAS:1990:MP), currently working as Chairperson, NHAI, was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Road Transport and Highways vice Aramane Giridhar (IAS:1988:AP).
- Vivek Joshi (lAS:1989:HY) was appointed as Secretary, Department of Financial Services under the Ministry of Finance. Joshi replaces Sanjay Malhotra (lAS:1990:RJ) upon his appointment as OSD in the Department of Revenue. Presently, Joshi is working as Registrar General of India and Census Commissioner, Ministry of Home Affairs,
- Amrit LaI Meena (lAS:1989:BH), Special Secretary (Logistics), Department for Promotion of Industry & Internal Trade, Ministry of Commerce & Industry, was appointed as OSD Ministry of Coal. Meena will take over as Secretary, Ministry of Coal on 01.11.2022 after Anil Kumar Jain (lAS:1986:MP) will superannuate on 31.10.2022.
- Sanjay Malhotra (IAS:1990:RJ), Secretary, Department of Financial Services, was appointed as OSD in the Department of Revenue. Malhotra will take over as Secretary, Department of Revenue after the retirement of Tarun Bajaj (lAS:1988:HY) on 30.11.2022.
- Bhupinder Singh Bhalla (lAS:1990:UT), presently in the Cadre, was appointed as OSD in the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE). Bhalla will take over as Secretary, MNRE after the retirement of Indu Shekhar Chaturvedi (IAS:1987:JH) on 31.10.2022.
- Sanjay Kumar (IAS:1990:BH), currently, Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs, was appointed as OSD, Department of School Education & Literacy, Ministry of Education. Kumar will take over from Ms Anita Karwal (IAS:1988:GJ) as Secretary Department of School Education & Literacy after her retirement on 30.11.2022.
- Sanjeev Chopra (IAS:1990:OR), presently in the cadre, was appointed as Secretary, Department of Food and Public Distribution vice Sudhanshu Pandey (lAS:1987:UT) upon his superannuation on 31.10.2022.
- Ms Meeta R Lochan (IAS:1990:MH), Member Secretary, National Commission for Women, was appointed as Secretary, Department of Youth Affairs vice Sanjay Kumar (lAS:1990:BH).
- Manoj Govil (IAS:1991:MP), presently in the Cadre, was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Corporate Affairs.
- Shailesh Kumar Singh (IAS:1991:JH), Additional Secretary and Development Commissioner, Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, was appointed as OSD in the Department of Rural Development. He will succeed N N Sinha as Secretary, Department of Rural Development.
- Sudhansh Pant (IAS:1991:RJ), presently in the Cadre, was appointed as OSD in the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways w.e.f. 01.12.2022. Pant will take over from Sanjeev Ranjan (IAS:1985:TR) as Secretary, Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways upon his superannuation on 31 .01 .2023.
- Kamran Rizvi (IAS:1991:UP) was appointed as OSD, Ministry of Heavy Industries. Currently, Kamran is the Additional Secretary, Ministry of Housing & Urban Affairs. He will take over from Arun Goel (lAS:1985:PB) upon his superannuation as Secretary, Ministry of Heavy Industries on 31.12.202.
- Ms Rachna Shah (IAS:1991:KL), Additional Secretary, Department of Commerce, was appointed as Secretary, Ministry of Textiles. She will take over from Upendra Prasad Singh (IAS:1985:OR) as Textiles Secretary upon Singh’s superannuation on 31.10.2022.
