For the reasons best known to them, the PMO is yet to clear a large number of appointments to be made it the Law Commission. The vacant posts are hampering efficiency of the commission. Nevertheless, Chairman Justice B S Chauhan and retired High Court judge Ravi R Tripathi functioning as a member are trying hard to run the commission as efficiently as they could. Last week, Justice Chauhan had a long meeting with Union Law Secretary P K Malhotra to take stock of the pending reports.
