If some reliable sources are to
be believed the government on December 03 scotched the rumour of appointment of
a DG rank officer in the CBI as an OSD as well as the appointment of a senior
IAS officer in a supervisory role. Reports had appeared in a section
of the media contending that the Government is considering the two options to
end the alleged policy paralysis in CBI Government sources claimed that the appointment of any senior officer in the CBI, being sub judice before the Supreme Court, will be strictly in accordance with the decision of the Supreme Court
of India in the pending proceedings and not before the Supreme Court decides
the matter. It further claimed that the Government of India refutes these imputations and whatever is stated in the reports are absolutely false.
