If some well-placed sources are to be believed the Govt of Kerala suspended Kollam Sub Collector Anupam Mishra (IAS:2016:KL) for jumping home quarantine and leaving for Kanpur (home town) during the nation-wide lockdown. While taking stringent action the state government described the behaviour; “a serious lapse on part of an IAS officer”.

A case was lodged against him for jumping home quarantine. The officer had come back from Singapore on 18 March. Amid COVID-19 pandemic District Collector B Abdul Nazer had directed him for self-quarantine at his official residence. Instead he left for his hometown Kanpur in Uttar Pradesh on March 21 a few days before a three-week countrywide lockdown.
