New Delhi (01.10.2025): The crucial position of Principal Director General (DG), Vigilance and Chief Vigilance Officer (CVO) at the Central Board of Indirect Taxes & Customs (CBIC) is set to see a new appointment shortly, according to highly placed sources.
The post, which plays a pivotal role in maintaining integrity across the indirect tax administration, fell vacant following the appointment of Vivek Chaturvedi (IRS C&IT: 1990) to Member, Tax Policy & Legal on the CBIC Board in the first week of September this year.
Indianmandarins learns that Anuj Gogia (IRS C&IT: 1992) is the likely candidate to replace Vivek Chaturvedi. Anuj Gogia currently serves as the Principal Chief Commissioner, GST, in the Jaipur Region.
The formal appointment order is expected soon, filling the vacancy at the head of the CBIC’s key internal vigilance mechanism.
