G23 reduced to G22 with Sibel contesting RS polls as SP nominee

New Delhi (26.05.2022): One after another, the old guards of the Congress are deserting the party for various reasons. After a long haul of demands for reform in the Congress, the G23 has now come down to G22 with Kapil Sibel being fielded as Samajwadi Party candidate for Rajya Sabha from Uttar Pradesh. This could be a major setback for the Congress as he is not only an accomplished legal luminary but is also a good speaker who defended the Congress in Parliament on various occasions. He has the distinction of defeating Smriti Irani in LS election.
