New Delhi (05.10.2024): Some IPS officers of AGMUT cadre submitted their representation to Union Home Ministry to reconsider their transfer orders citing personal and family issues but except in the case of Mangesh Kashyap (IPS: 2009: AGMUT), whose wife is a celebrated journalist of a big media house in Delhi none of the representation has been acceded to. MHA, in response to Kashyap's representation, said that his transfer was "kept in abeyance till further orders.
Manoj Kumar Meena (IPS: 2012: AGMUT) requested the MHA to retain him in Delhi for six months who was transferred to A&NI but his request has not been acceded to. Similarly, Hibu Tamang (IPS: 2004: AGMUT) requested to be retained in Delhi for a year but his request too was denied. He has been asked to join office in Arunachal Pradesh. The child of Meenu Chaudhary (IPS: 2000: AGMUT) is in class XI, so she wanted her transfer orders to be deferred till her child’s exams concludes but she too has been asked to report in Mizoram
Responding to their representations the Cadre controlling authority i.e. MHA said that transfers effected on administrative grounds and in the larger public interest but officers can always seek leaves from the competent authorities to deal with personal hardship where they have been transferred to.
