With the govt inviting expression of interest bids for approx six PSUs Bridge & Roof and Pawan Hans the NDA Govt headed by PM Narendra Modi appeared to have kick-started the process of strategic sale of Central PSUs after a gap of over 13 years. These six state owned companies are part of the 34 PSUs, which NITI Aayog had recommended last year for strategic disinvestment. Other PSUs including BEML (a profit making PSU) would be up for grabs in another few months. It may be mentioned that country's last outright sale of a PSU was carried out in year 2003 and 2004.
