Mumbai (21.06.2022): Former Mumbai police commissioner Param Bir Singh in his statement to the CBI accused politicians including former state home minister Anil Deshmukh, Shiv Sena leader and transport minister Anil Parab, Dy CM Ajit Pawar and NCP MP Supriya Sule of recommending transfer-posting of police officers. Singh's statement is part of the chargesheet submitted against Deshmukh, his personal secretary Sanjeev Palande and PA Kundan Shinde before a special court.

Other politicians whose names Singh has mentioned include revenue minister Balasaheb Thorat, Sena leader and industries minister Subhash Desai, Jayant Patil, Rajesh Tope, Aslam Shaikh and Nawab Malik. However, there were no allegations that these transfer-postings had been done for any consideration. Singh said in his statement that the postings and transfers of officers were done arbitrarily after overlooking the seniority and merit criteria, especially in commissionerate level posting, where he mentioned about posting of two senior IPS officers.
