Thiruvananthapuram (01.06.2023): Additional director generals of police K Padmakumar (IPS: 1989: KL) and Sheikh Darvesh Saheb (IPS: 1990: KL) have been promoted to the rank of DGP. Padmakumar has been appointed as the Chief of Prisons while Darvesh Sahib, who previously headed the Crime Branch, has been appointed as the Director General of the Fire Force. Their appointments have led to the creation of ex-cadre posts equivalent to the rank of DGP.
