The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) on Saturday detained Director General Corporate Affairs B K Bansal (an additional secretary ranked officer in Ministry of Corporate Affairs) in connection with an alleged bribery case of Rs nine lakh. He was nabbed, and may be arrested after completion of the due process, along with a private person Vishwadeep Bansal for allegedly favoring a private firm, CBI sources said.
These sources claimed that Rs 54 lakhs were recovered during searches at six locations in connection with the case.
Bansal, Senior Administrative Grade officer of Indian Corporate Law Service (ICLS) was promoted to the post of Director General of Corporate Affairs (DGCA) last year.
