The Appointments Committee of the Cabinet is said to have declined to endorse the recommendation of the Civil Service Board (CSB) for the post of Chairman, Coconut Development Board, which functions under the Dept of Agriculture. The post is set to fall vacant as the incumbent Chairman (CDB), Dr Shakeel P Ahmed (IAS:1995:AM), is expected to complete his tenure shortly. Reportedly, of the three names on the panel, Raju Narayanaswamy's (IAS:1991:KL) name was finalized but at the top level, his name was denied endorsement. It is said that the 360 report went against his name as he is considered too much 'rigid' in his approach towards administration. It may also be noted that Narayanswamy has been infamously famous for his extreme honesty. The panel is reportedly scrapped and the post is expected to be advertised shortly.
