The largest pension fund manager of the country, EPFO, has disbursed Rs 946.49 crore in just 15 days. It also processed 3.3 lakh claims for voluntary withdrawals underlining a rush for liquidity among the salaried class. The EPFO opened a special window on March 28, 2020 for withdrawal from the EPF Scheme to tide over Covid-19 pandemic as part of the PMGKY package to provide timely relief to the working class of the country. Since the scheme started, EPFO has processed 3.31 lakh claims disbursing Rs 946.49 crore. Besides this additional Rs 284 crore have been distributed by the exempted PF Trusts under this scheme.
