The Chhattisgarh government on June 1 effected a small reshuffle of IPS officers. As per the official orders, services of Gurjinder Pal Singh (IPS:1994:CG), working as Additional DG, Anti Corruption Bureau and Economic Offence Wing, were placed under the Department of Home with immediate effect and he was posted as ADG, Police Head Quarters, Raipur.

The additional charge of ACB and EOW was given to the Raipur Superintendent of Police Sheikh Arif Hussain (IPS:2005:CG).

It is believed that the decision was part of a routine administrative exercise but if some top sources are to be believed, G P Singh is also under IT-Department's scanner and to rule out possibilities any further embracement to the government he would have been stripped off from the responsibilities of ACB and EOW assignments and was attached to PHQ.

It may be underlined that the state government has been under apprehensions ever since the IT-Department conducted raids at over 25 premises in February this year including those of Saumya Chaurasia (Deputy Secretary to CM), Raipur Mayor, former CS and several contractors, CAs and big businessmen.
