New Delhi (29.08.2022): Former JD(U) Rajya Sabha MP Anil Kumar Sahani was convicted by a special CBI Court in the LTC scam case. The issue pertains to fraudulently claiming traveling and dearness allowance reimbursements when he was a member of the upper house, officials said.
Apart from convicting Sahani, the Special Judge, CBI Cases, Delhi also convicted Arvind Kumar, then Personal Assistant of Sahani and NS Nair, Office Superintendent (Traffic) of Air India in the case.
Now an RJD MLA from Kurhani, Sahani is accused of providing fake e-tickets and fake boarding passes as reimbursement of travel and dearness allowance without doing any travel while being a Rajya Sabha MP. Sahani is accused of defrauding the Rajya Sabha to the tune of Rs 23.71 lakh. 
The CBI registered the instant case on October 31, 2013, against Sahani, a Member of Parliament(Rajya Sabha) and others. It was alleged that during the year 2012, Sahani entered into a conspiracy with M/s Air Cruise Travels Pvt Ltd., New Delhi and others with the object to cheat the Government of India by claiming undue reimbursement of Rs.9,49,270/- incurred upon purported air journey along with other companions.
 During the investigation, it was found that Sahani conspired with other accused and attempted fraudulent withdrawal of TA/DA by using forged tickets and boarding passes as genuine without performing an actual journey.
A case against Sahani was registered by the Central investigative agency in October 2013 after a reference to the same by the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC).
After investigation, a charge sheet was filed on October 23, 2015, against Sahani and others under relevant sections of the IPC and PC Act.
