As Indianmandarins had reported
earlier the outgoing CBDT Chairman Pramod Chandra Mody (IRS IT:1982) has been
given extension in service (on re-employment basis) for a period of one year.
He was scheduled to retire this week but having got extension Mody will
continue to Chair the Board upto 31.08.2020.
When Sushil Chandra’s term as CBDT
Chairman was extended in May 2017 on re-employed basis it was considered a rare
exception. But the exception appeared to have become a norm now.
